Education, training and qualifications
|
For applicants in the UK and EU, the candidate must be one of the following:
Have a primary medical qualification (e.g. MBBS/MB ChB) which will lead to eligibility for registration on the GMC’s medical register.
Have completed the UK Foundation Programme upon starting this fellowship.
Enrolled in a Medical Training Programme leading to a CCT under Health Education England North East
Undertaking a primary qualification which will lead to eligibility for registration on the NMC register.
Within their first five years of registration on the NMC register.
Within their first five years of registration on the HCPC register.
Within their first five years as a Physician Associate which will lead to eligibility for registration on the PAMVR register.

Skills and knowledge |
The candidate must have:
A demonstrable knowledge and/or understanding of their national healthcare structures and relevant health policy organisations.
An active ‘extra-curricular’ interest in healthcare leadership, quality improvement or innovation and technology.
Excellent written and spoken English.

The candidate may have:
Experience in a healthcare leadership position.
Experience in medical innovation or technology.
|
Experience |
For Leadership only:
Experience as part of a leadership team in any walk of life.

Experience speaking at events in front of senior clinicians .
Experience in quality improvement.
|
Personal attributes |
Excellent communication skills.
Effective time management and organisational skills.
A strong motivation to improve society and national healthcare systems for the benefit of ordinary people.

Other special requirements |
Be able to commit to all the clinical and non-clinical sessions, exercises and deadlines for the duration of the programme.
Good technical skills in MS Word, Powerpoint and Excel.
Be able to commit to pursuing a project for the duration of the programme. The project is envisaged to require a minimum of 8 hours a week for development and delivery.
