Who is this course for:
Regarding training programme applications and points resulting from undertaking any of our programmes, the general advice we give is the ultimate decision and responsibility for awarding points and jobs in the NHS is the responsibility of the appointing body. Those bodies have a tendency to change their criteria year on year. Therefore, our advice is to look at what has happened before as an indicator of how things are likely to be when you submit your application.
Our programme has had a significant number of trainees get the points they were aiming for, using the programmes we run. However there were a small number of cases where there were inconsistencies for surgical training only. You will need to make a judgment as to whether you believe our courses and programmes will be beneficial and you should also make a judgment as to whether the type of support we tend to offer and the history or our team lines up with your expectations. We aim to provide a significant amount of personal support to any clinician that undertakes one of our programmes.
The course is mapped against our accredited Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Practice, Management and Education, specifically the modules in Technology Enhanced Learning and Applied Clinical Education. On successful completion of this course, participants will have their registration fee deducted from the Postgraduate Certificate as well as being eligible for receiving a significant additional bursary. This is a very cost-effective way of starting your journey as a medical educator and build up to your postgraduate certificate. The postgraduate certificate also has modules in Leadership to cover that aspect of your specialty training applications.
