About the Fellowship
The Clinical Leadership and Innovation Fellowship is an exciting pilot fellowship championing flexible working and learning for post foundation doctors. With full flexibility of working and education you can achieve postgraduate qualifications (PG Cert in Clinical Practice, Management & Education and HLA Applied Clinical Leadership Diploma).You will spend 6 months, 9 months or 12 months working at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and have the option to work part or full time.

In addition to the clinical work, you will be completing a postgraduate certification in Healthcare Leadership (PG Cert in Clinical Practice, Management & Education and HLA Applied Clinical Leadership Diploma). You will also be enrolled on our innovative e-learning platform and have access to a faculty of medical career coaches and mentors.

There will be a competitive recruitment process. Successful applicants will be required to pay a monthly fee for the Postgraduate Certificate and sign a contract agreeing to:
This programme includes the postgraduate certificate in Clinical Practice, Management & Education and the Intermediate Leadership Programme (ILM 5) as well as mentoring, career support and project work.
Fee GBP £4000 with monthly payment plans available

What does fully flexible working mean?
Fully flexible working means that you can choose to work shifts at times that suit you. They could be day shifts, night shifts, weekend shifts or a mix of all – it's completely up to you and the shifts available. This fellowship will allow you to both flexibly work and learn. This means that you will be able to complete the postgraduate programme of learning at times that suit you best.

What is the time commitment like for the postgraduate courses?
The time commitment for the postgraduate courses is between 8-15 hours per week.
Will I be expected to complete the PG Cert and ILM 5 over 6 months?
You are not expected to complete the postgraduate courses in 6 months. The normal completion time is 12-24 months and most of the clinicians on these programmes also work full or part time. Due to the flexible nature of the programme it is possible to learn and complete assignments at a more convenient time for you!
Who is the Postgraduate Certificate accredited by?
The PG Cert in Clinical Practice, Management and Education is accredited by UClan Medical School.

Who is the ILM5 accredited by?
This is a fully online programme designed for clinicians interested in leadership to gain qualifications that lead to an ILM Level 5 qualification with the option of gaining Membership of the Institute of Leadership and Management (MInstLM).

How many hours do I need to work?
The minimum number of hours is:
6 month fellowship: 416 hours
12 month fellowship: 832
50 hours must be out of hours (evenings/weekends/nights)
